Ways of Making Oral Hygiene Easier As We Age
As we get older, many of us struggle to have the same dexterity we once had. This is due to our joints getting weaker and more tender. Plus, many of us will face arthritis. If you struggle with painful hands, that can directly impact your ability to care for your mouth. Here are a few tips to make brushing and flossing a little easier, that way, you can maintain your healthy smile.

Change Your Oral Hygiene Tools

One of the best ways of keeping your teeth clean when your hands hurt is to get yourself a bigger handled toothbrush. The larger handle can make holding it easier, as you do not need as much small muscle control to move it around your mouth. It should also be an electric toothbrush so that it cleans the surface of each tooth without you needing to move it around as much.

Another tool you can get to make the process easier is a water flosser. Instead of having to twist your hands up and try and floss your teeth, this tool does it much more easily. Instead of string, a water flosser uses water or mouthwash to spray a stream between your teeth and remove debris. This is much easier for sore hands to maneuver, allowing for better oral health.

If you are struggling to keep your teeth clean because of aging, contact us. We can work out a plan to help you keep your original teeth for as long as possible. It may mean you coming in a little more often for help keeping your teeth clean, or it may be a totally different treatment plan. It all depends on your needs. Reach out to us today!

Ways of Avoiding Dental Stains

Are There Different Types of Tooth Sensitivity?
Many people understand that if they eat something cold, it can sometimes shock their mouth. This is because their teeth are sensitive to the cold. However, did you know there are other types of sensitivity you may experience as well? It's true. Your mouth, specifically your teeth, can be sensitive to temperatures and flavors. You may notice pain from cold as well as hot foods, where you feel those shocks through your teeth and into your gums and jaw.
